Announcements:

CLCC Current Protocols for Covid-19

ANNOUNCEMENT

Since March of 2020 our concerns about how to best protect ourselves and those we love has been a paramount issue for myself and the leadership at Cheat Lake Community Church. We have gone through a number of different protocols in an effort to act responsibly and in faith with what we believe to be pleasing to the Lord. I am so grateful for the overall health we have enjoyed and been blessed with during this pandemic.

We have made every effort to abide with and conform to the recommendations and mandates that have been in place over the past fifteen months with regard to wearing masks, sanitizing spaces, social distancing, and any potential quarantines. As I have talked with many of our members, I am very pleased that the vast majority have chosen to be vaccinated. Not everyone has chosen to get the vaccine and I respect everyone’s individual responsibility and decision with regard to this issue.

As we move forward, we are moving into the next phase of navigating this issue. Recent statements made by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) & the Governor of the state of West Virginia are very encouraging:

CDC Guidelines for those who have been Vaccinated for Covid 19 If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  •  You can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic.

  •  You can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart,   except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws,   rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

  •  If you travel in the United States, you do not need to get tested before or   after travel or self-quarantine after travel.

  •  If you’ve been around someone who has COVID-19, you do not need to stay   away from others or get tested unless you have symptoms.

Governor Justus West Virginia Statewide Indoor Face Covering Requirement UPDATE (May 14, 2021)

On Friday, May 14, 2021, Gov. Justice signed an Executive Order to immediately modify West Virginia’s face covering requirement to follow the updated CDC guidance for fully vaccinated West Virginians.

  •  The Statewide Indoor Face Covering Requirement no longer applies to   anyone who is fully vaccinated.

The CDC and the Governor have been very clear that those who have been fully vaccinated are not at risk of contracting or spreading Covid 19 and all interactions are considered to be safe. Based on these guidelines effective immediately if you have been fully vaccinated:

  •  You do not need to wear a mask for any CLCC activities whether the activity   is Indoor or Outdoor.   However, this is an individual choice and for those   who are more comfortable wearing a mask we   completely understand and   respect this choice.

  •  We will continue, for the time being, to set up chairs in the sanctuary so   that there will be a level of social   distancing for those who desire it. If you   want to sit closer to family members or friends you are   comfortable sitting   next to, this will be acceptable and encouraged.

We will gradually start adding back some social activities. We are planning to have an ‘Outdoor Cook-Out’ and fireworks display on July 3rd. We are still developing this and as soon as we have some details available, we will let you know. We are also praying about and developing a plan to ‘re-start’ some youth activities this summer.

Feel free to call me to discuss this if you have any questions or concerns. I am very encouraged with the progress that has been made over the past months in resolving what has been a dangerous and trying time.

In Christ’s love,

John
